Tired of low wages, poor treatment, or feeling like you don’t have a voice at work? Teamsters Local 30 is here to help workers organize for dignity, respect, and real power on the job.
Since 1935, Local 30 has proudly represented hardworking people across Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, fighting for better wages, job security, and dignity on the job. Whether it’s protecting your rights, improving working conditions, or making your voice heard, we stand with workers every step of the way.
No. Your right to organize is protected by federal law. If your employer attempts to intimidate, harass, or discipline you for organizing, they could face charges for unfair labor practices.
Nothing. The Local Union covers all costs. You will not pay any dues until you and your co-workers ratify a contract.

You and your co-workers do. You'll elect a committee that makes proposals and attends every negotiating session. At least one member from your workplace will be present at all times.
No. Strikes are rare and only happen when the majority of workers vote to authorize one. You and your co-workers always have the final say.
It varies. The sooner we identify strong support, the sooner we can move to a vote. After the election, it typically takes about 18 months to negotiate and ratify a first contract.
You will not pay any dues until your contract is ratified. Once it is ratified, Union dues are 2.5 times your hourly rate, paid monthly. For example, if you make $20.00 per hour, your dues would be $50.00 per month. The initiation fee is waived for newly organized groups.
No. Your dues support day-to-day operations, legal representation, and grievance procedures.
